One of the primary activities in our association’s work includes trade fairs – headed up by our flagship fair, the Interlift, and including offers for our members to appear at joint pavilions at foreign trade fairs. This year we will be on hand at the China Elevator Expo 2006 in Langfang, near Peking. Providing our members information on current developments in the area of regulations and guidelines is another focal point and one which, like the trade fair activities, we want to further optimize

Another VFA commitment – Continuing education

Once again in 2006 the VFA Academy will be supporting the “4th Schwelm Symposium”, scheduled to take place on May 14 and 15. The symposium will be organized and conducted by the Henning GmbH. The Schwelm Symposium offers “current information” from all the sectors of the elevator industry.

In November we will be staging the “Kassel Elevator Convention”. In the foreground at the Kassel Elevator Convention will be topics of interest to owners and executives in middle-market elevator construction firms. How and to what extent the offerings of the VFA Academy can be expanded is currently being explored by a working group within the Executive Board.

The Board is also considering ways in which we can assist our members in their daily work – such as legal support, cost reductions through central information acquisition and the like.

At the Annual General Meeting in March the concepts on the subjects of providing advice to members and the expansion of the VFA Academy will be presented to the members.

Some of the Board’s members will be taking the opportunity presented by the Heilbronn Lift Conference to recruit new members for VFA-Interlift.

At the Light & Building trade fair in Frankfurt the VFA will inform visitors about its work and that of its members. We will be displaying the submissions to the architecture competition. Our business manager will also be available on site for consultation.

We believe that the opportunities being offered will provide many helpful suggestions and interesting information and are hoping that attendance will be lively.
