He was known in the sector as an active , committed entrepreneur who was never too proud to roll up his sleeves and ‘get stuck in’. In 1967 he took over the company run by his father and renamed it Bongers & Deimann GmbH, BODE for short. He vigorously promoted the worldwide export of his main products of speed limiters and cable brakes. Under his leadership the firm of BODE specialised in the manufacture of safety components for elevators. The company’s high reputation in the US and Asian markets is attributable to his tireless efforts and dedication to quality. In 2002 he transferred his shareholding in the company to his successors.
Rudolf Deimann was one of the founder members of the VFA Interlift in 1987 and since 1994 has been a generous patron of so able to count on his willing support at all times. From the very outset he gave us his help and introduced us to the sector. As a human being he was always willing to listen to our problems and solutions to some of our problems came from his spontaneous ideas.
We will miss him in the sector but he will always remain honoured in our thoughts.
