The next European Lift Congress Heilbronn will be staged on October 19 and 20, 2010. As in past years, the event’s patrons will be the European Lift Association ELA, the German Manufacturers’ Associations VDMA and VFA, and the Association of Technical Inspectorate Agencies VdTÜV.

The congress will be focusing on new aspects of the technical regulatory framework, the sustainability of lifts in the light of environmental aspects and suitability for the disabled and on innovations driven by these developments.
The most significant upcoming changes to the European regulatory framework over coming years will be the amendment to the Lift Directive 95/16/EC and the fundamental revision of EN 81-1/2. Speakers from both the responsible agencies will be attending the congress to report at first hand on the anticipated changes.
The environmental issue in particular will give rise to further signifi cant changes and adjustments in the fi eld of lift technology. User expectations are also responsible for placing ever more stringent demands on the performance, availability and safety of lifts which can only be satisfied by innovative new products. Expert speakers will be presenting a number of interesting and ground-breaking examples of this type of innovative development.
The European Lift Congress 2010 will once again be held in Heilbronn. The friendly, welcoming ambience of the city and its appealing surroundings amid sloping vineyards have been very positively received by congress-goers in past years. Once again in 2010, the Technical Academy of Heilbronn will be hosting an attractive evening program which will afford participants further opportunity to exchange opinions and to become better acquainted with the Heilbronn region.
