Practice-proven versatility

The new updated DT3X range of Meiller swing doors

Product range modified in line with market demands
Meiller Aufzugtüren GmbH from Munich can look back on decades of success and experience in designing and manufacturing quality sliding (telescopic) lift doors for use in virtually all applications. As a company with a long tradition, it also produces and sells extra-long swing landing doors, which have proven extremely durable in characteristically rough industrial environments.
Modifications have recently been implemented, based on changes in market demands, amendments to applicable standards and optimization of the technical production process; this has now led to the launch of the new DT3X range of swing doors.

Swing doors that comply with DIN 18 090 and DIN EN 81–58 – only from Meiller

The DT3X door range currently comprises seven different types of landing door, all of which conform with the requirements of EN 81-1(2). Moreover, all swing doors conform in principal with DIN 18 090, since the production complies in general with the restrictions and fundamental requirements of these regulations. However, whether a particular swing door model actually complies with DIN 18 090 depends on its format (permitted dimensions and such options as window types etc.). It is of course also possible to order all door types to conform with EN 81 – 58.
Swing door range with thorough design – Fast replacement of damaged parts ensures high level of availability
For moderate industrial use: DT37/X
Lift doors in the DT37/X series (where X = number of door leaves) all have the same basic construction and metal thicknesses. They are fitted with externally concealed, adjustable-height hinges. The door frame and door leaf contours (2 mm thick metal/55 mm deep and 1.5 mm thick metal/51 mm deep respectively) and the position of the point of rotation inside the frame are selected in such a way that the clear frame distance is equal to the entrance width when the door is opened at an angle of 90° (circular movement of ball-bearing). This is of particular significance for doors constructed in niches. The doors can be opened up to angles of 105° before the hinges reach the end position provided for in the interior of the door frame. All doors of this type are fitted with a 4x50x50 mm sill bracket as standard; this forms the lower joint of the two lateral frame sections. Thanks to the modular construction of the 37 series swing doors, it is an easy matter to re place any damaged sections of the portal frame or door leaves, whatever the installation conditions are. The position and format of the type-approved locking bolt, with which each wing is locked with the frame, varies according to the number of door leaves employed, as do the door frame variants (two hinge frames with multiple-panel doors, hinge and lock frame for single-panel doors).
DT37/1 – single-panel swing door for moderate industrial use
The DT37/1 is a single-panel, side-opening, self-locking swing door, designed for moderate industrial applications. It is available with a metal door leaf in clear door widths of 600 – 1300 mm and clear door heights of 2000 – 2300 mm and replaces the previous DT17 model. Not only can the entrance dimensions be varied but the frame and sill can also be constructed to customer specifications. This enables installation in narrow lift shafts or existing door recesses, without necessitating major structural modifications. The transom height and frame widths can be selected within the range 70 – 400 mm.
DT37/1 Bellevue – glass swing door for non-industrial use
The DT37/1 Bellevue with the fully enclosed glass door leaf was designed to satisfy the optical requirements of non-industrial locations. This designer lift door is available in widths of 600 – 1000 mm and heights of 2000 – 2100 mm while the frame and sill are the same as the DT37/1 for moderate industrial applications. This means that both types of door panel can be exchanged within the existing portal frame.

DT37/2 – two-panel swing door for moderate industrial applications
The lift door for moderate industrial applications is also available with two panels, as the DT37/2 (similar to the DT27), whenever larger loading widths (clear widths of 1000 – 2500 mm) and heights (clear door heights of 2000 – 2400 mm) are required. As with all swing doors that comprise more than one panel, it is possible to select whether the closing edge of the door should be constructed with or without an overlap; it is also possible to select the resultant closing sequence. By selecting the construction without the overlap, it is possible to install a two-panel, self-closing door without the need for costly additional components (such as a closing sequence controller or two electric door drives configured as master and slave). The two door panels can either be constructed symmetrically (each panel 1/2 x door width) or asymmetrically; in the latter instance, the final closing panel can be 600 – 1250 mm while the first closing panel can be in the range 400 – 1250 mm.
Heavy-duty industrial doors DT38/X and DT39/2
Lift doors in the DT38/X series (where X = number of door leaves) and DT39/2 all have the same basic construction and metal thicknesses. They are fitted with external, adjustable-height hinges. The door frame and door leaf contours (4 mm thick metal/50 mm deep and 2 mm thick metal/61 mm deep respectively) and the position of the point of rotation are selected in such a way that for a clear frame distance of door width plus 70 mm, the door entry width is reached when the door is opened at an angle of 90°. This is of particular significance for doors constructed in niches. The doors can be opened up to 180° in the absence of structural restrictions before the hinges begin to touch the door frame. However, loading is possible from an angle of 125° through the entire inner frame width. All doors of this type are fitted with a 6x60x60 mm sill bracket as standard; this forms the lower joint of the two lateral frame sections. Thanks to the modular construction of these swing doors, it is an easy matter to replace any damaged sections of the portal frame or door leaves, in many installation conditions.
As with the 37 series, the door panel format (with or without overlap) and distribution of door panels (symmetrically or asymmetrically) can be selected by the customer.
DT38/X – swing doors with innovative MKV door lock, for use with fork-lift trucks
All panels in the DT38/X swing landing doors (new generation superseding the DT28) are locked by the newly developed and successfully tested Meiller MKV lock flap fitted to the transom, which is type approved in conjunction with the pressure protection mechanism. Again the dimensions of the frame and sill can be varied for reasons already outlined above for the DT37 door series, allowing a transom height within the range 150 – 400 mm and a frame width of 75 – 400 mm to be selected.
The two-panel, centrally opening DT38/2 is a heavy duty, lock flap lift door with sheet metal door leaf, available for clear doors widths of 1200 – 3700 mm and clear door heights of 2000 – 4000 mm. The two door panels can have widths of 600 – 1850 mm. To enable a lower door panel swivel area to the front of the door, while retaining the same permissible dimensions, it is possible to install a three-panel construction, with the model number DT38/3; however, it is then necessary to select a door width of 1400 – 3700 mm. The outer door panel may have a size of between 200 – 1000 mm; the same applies to the four-panel door, the next model in the range. To obtain an even greater loading width, a four-panel door model, the DT38/4, is available, with door widths of 1600 – 4000 mm.
DT39/2 – two-panel swing door for heavy-duty industrial use
In contrast to the DT38 doors, the two-panel, centrally opening DT39/2 swing landing door (supersedes the DT29 model) for heavy industrial applications with sheet metal door panels is fitted with a latch bolt lock. Again, the frame and sill dimensions can be specified by the customer, with a possible transom height of 100 – 400 mm and frame widths of 60 – 400 mm. The clear loading opening can be varied within a range of 2000 – 4000 mm in height and 1200 – 3000 mm in width, provided the individual door panels have a width of 600 – 1500 mm.
Flexible modification in line with any customer specification
The new DT3X generation of swing doors is above all characterized by the wide variety of modifications that are possible; for instance, the customer can specify door dimensions (width, height, transom height and frame widths right and left) to within 1 millimetre when ordering. Furthermore, the purely mechanical inter- face between the car door and the swing landing door can be varied using a range of roller lever and lock arrangements in combination with the three most usual lever pressure directions to enable mechanical adjustments to fi t virtually any existing car door. Of course, the swing door lock can also be activated mechanically.
To cope with the various effects of the environment, doors can be ordered with a choice of protection class (IP20, IP51, IP54, IP67, and EX), material (steel, V2A, and V4A) and surface (primer coated, powder-coated, polished or shot-blasted).
Depending on customer requirements, a variety of door locking sequences can be achieved, including damped automatic locking with subsequent door retention, either over the entire closing distance or only for the final 20 mm; it is also possible to employ programmed opening and closing sequences. By combining this with the wide range of lock assemblies, it is possible, for example, to restrict access to a certain group of people.
All customers are able to modify the design of their doors. A wide choice of windows, window frames, glass types and handle constructions are available. DT37/X doors can also be constructed with patterned stainless steel sheet panels.
If the door is exposed to additional loads, options can be incorporated that serve to enhance the strength of the sheet metal used in the doors (up to 900 mm from floor surface). An additional hinge can also be fitted. To enhance the door‘s energy properties and noise characteristics, it is possible to fill the frame and sill and/or door panels with rock wool.
Custom solutions and other dimensions are possible upon request.
